A Tribute to Bill Gwyn
- In the words of his friend Eddie Boomhower -
"Bill Gwyn was raised in Portsmouth, Va. He tried school but wasn't his bag. Went on to mechanics institute and found his notch. At age 16 Bill Worked at the Portsmouth Cycle Co and did some scrambles racing. The auto drag bug bit him and he built some of the best that ever ran. He also worked on the engines for the famous Henry Lauterbach world renowned boat racer. After running a highly successful auto/racing machine shop, at about age 60 he decided he had missed too much by not racing motorcycles so bought a couple KR’s and went to vintage racing under the AHRMA banner. He was quick to help anybody in need of machine shop assistance. Bill was a dear friend and the Virginia racers will really miss him."
