May 26 2010: Added "The History of the National Capital Motorcycle Club as written by several members of that legendary Washington DC club. If you raced at tracks like Winchester TT, Piney Grove and hillclimbed at Clarksburg, MD then you knew the NCMC. Thanks to Bob Myers for this wonderful contribution.

They may be gone but they'll never be forgotten here on the pages of this website!

May 6 2010: Once again we thank moto-photographer extraordinaire Len Breech for another contribution to our website. This time he graces us with 125 photos taken in 1971 at the 1/2 mile racetrack located in Gratz, PA. Names like Bird, Shaffer, Deel, Ingram, Griffin, Clickner, Smith, Fisher and hundreds of others have done battle at Gratz over the years

May 2 2010: Regular contributor and our "HD Aermacchi Man on the Ground in Europe" Jack Stoffels sends us 9 new videos taken at a vintage race in his home country of the Netherlands.

As Jack explains in his email to us:

"New Classic Race season took off last Friday on our Dutch National Holiday. Here’s some video footage of the 125cc class and the 350cc class I put on youtube. Day started off with rain but ended dry in the afternoon. In the 125cc class it’s me on #94.  In the 350cc my friend Bert also on HD Aermacchi with #95"

March 25 2010: added the Gary "Poochie" Cox Memorial page. Poochie was a native of Randolph County, owner and operator of Cox's Harley-Davidson dealerships in Asheboro, Rock Hill, SC and Cox's Northern Tier Harley-Davidson in Mansfield, PA. He was an Asheboro Parks and Recreation baseball coach from 1982-1996 and basketball coach from 1982-1994. He was a member and past Secretary of the Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealer's Association. As well as being a damn good dirt track racer he was also the official starter for the AMA Pro Flat Track Motorcycle Racing Series from 1974-2010.

March 6 2010: Virginia's own Mike Eades is back on the short track at the Daytona 2010 racing in the Vets and Seniors class "Vintage Dirt Track" event.

We hear he's being sponsored by AARP, Rogain and Viagra...but can't confirm!

Feb 24 2010: Added 5 new photos to the Larry Jendras Jr Album. Taken in May of 1959 at Vista Speedway, Landover, Md by the late moto-photographer Bob Williams of Washington DC. These black and white photos were scanned at a very high resolution so every detail can be seen! We've also added them to the Vista Speedway track album as well.

Jan 18 2010: Added from the collection of Larry Jendras Jr this great collection of Frederick Post newspaper articles about Mountain Top Speedway which was located just west of Frederick in Braddock Heights, Md. The track stopped running in the late 1950's.

Jan18 2010: Added several more photos to the Ronnie Rall-Dave Estep Album. Thanks so much to Kathy Estep and her daughter Julie Estep Buckner for sharing their family album with us. Dave was husband and father to Kathy and Julie, while Ronnie is their brother and uncle. Both of these riders spent many weekends racing and winning on the dirt tracks in our Mid-Atlantic region. From the cushioned tracks in the Carolinas to the hard grooved tracks in Pennsylvania and every track in between Ronnie and Dave became legends. Both men were honored guests and featured legends in the AMA Hall of Fame "Heros of Harley Davidson" exhibit that opened in 2003. Ronnie is a member of the Hall of Fame and was inducted in 2001. We are truly honored to be able to feature this pair of legends on our website.
